The 1-min strategy to grow your business on YouTube

It’s not just your kids who are watching way too much YouTube.

Your patients are, too.

YouTube is the 2nd largest social media network in the world.

Also the second largest search engine.

In fact, it’s the second most visited site on the internet.

If you aren’t reaching people there, you’re leaving a lot of money on the table.

Now, don’t start to freak out.

You don’t have to be attractive or love how you look or sound on camera (I sure don’t!).

You don’t have to go viral or try to get a million subscribers (you won’t!).

You don’t need crazy production values or editing skills or fancy equipment.

All you need is a smartphone and some knowledge that will help people.

You have those, right?

You can begin making content today.

To start, write down a list of questions you commonly hear patients ask you.

Maybe it’s exercises and stretches they can do at home, the best sleeping positions for certain conditions, the most effective ways to use ice/heat, what types of OTC braces/creams/supplements are useful, or anything else you hear.

Then, turn on selfie mode and just answer like you would in your clinic. (I like to use an app called Captions to make a script, quickly edit the video, and automatically add subtitles).

Try to keep your answers under a minute at first, which will qualify it as a “Short” on YouTube.

Then, create your business account on YouTube and upload the video.

Now do it again.

At least once a week, preferably more.

You won’t get a ton of views at first, but that’s okay (remember, the goal isn’t to go viral.)

Tell your friends and family about your channel, send a link to your email list, and when patients ask a question you’ve answered, point them to the YouTube video.

Soon, you’ll start to get some traffic, and the YouTube algorithm will help naturally expand your network to other, similar viewers.

Imagine posting a short video and getting 500 views.

That may not sound like much, but what if just 1% of those people contacted you.

5 new leads from a single 60-second video?

Yes, please!

And the people who do contact you will be much hotter leads who are already familiar with you and trust what you are saying.

Having a library of videos will also help you nurture leads from other sources.

When someone contacts you about back pain, for instance, you can immediately send them a link to a video that will help.

You can also post the same videos to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, or your website and blog, which will multiply your reach without any additional effort.

The best part?

All of this is completely free to do with tools you already have.

If you’re struggling to grow and want to give your marketing a boost without spending a ton of cash, give it a try.

You have nothing to lose.

But if you stick with it and focus on being helpful to your target patients, your business will have a lot to gain.

Your kids might think it’s pretty cool, too.

  1. You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this topic to be actually something that I think I
would never understand. It seems too complicated and extremely broad
for me. I am looking forward for your next post, I will try to get the hang of

    1. Thanks! I know what you mean, but I promise you can do it if you give it a shot. I found it very awkward and difficult at first. I hated seeing and hearing myself on the video, but the more I did it, the more I realized those things didn’t really matter to other people. They wanted answers, and they didn’t particularly care what I looked or sounded like, or whether I had some slick video and editing. The information and expertise is why people listen, and if you genuinely share them, you will make a difference. I hope you give it a try. Good luck!
